The GTA Netcast - A Grand Theft Auto IV Podcast

A weekly podcast covering the latest Grand Theft Auto news and discussion.

What is the GTA Netcast?

The GTA Netcast is a weekly Grand Theft Auto podcast hosted by Andy (GTANet webmaster, content editor and community moderator with the GTA Network) and Ottae (area moderator for GTAForums' GTA IV section). Guest cohosts are routinely featured on the show, and are typically pulled from the GTAForums community. The show itself touches on weekly Grand Theft Auto IV news and discussion, as well as hot topics from the GTAForums community message boards.

Rather than delivering the content in a matter-of-fact news format, the GTA Netcast focuses on round-table discussion reminiscent of traditional radio programming. The approximate length of each episode is roughly 45 minutes in length, although this can vary from one episode to the next.

Streaming Live

Recording sessions for the GTA Netcast are broadcast live over USTREAM.TV every Sunday night at approximately 7:00pm EST (-5 GMT). Regular Show Segments

Every episode of the GTA Netcast follows a similar pattern and includes the same segments:

  • Question of the Week:
A relatively open-ended question that "breaks the ice" for an episode. All individuals participating in the conversation can voice their personal opinion and answer, offering some insight into their thoughts on the subject. The Question of the Week is reflected by a poll that all GTAForums members can participate in.
  • The Headlines:
The top three stories from GTA4.NET will be touched on and discussed by all members of the Netcast panel, which each member introducing a story of their own.
  • Hot Topics:
Each member of the Netcast panel chooses a topic from the GTAForums community to highlight; the other individuals will offer their thoughts on the topic.
  • Shout Out:
Wrapping up the show is the Shout Out. Each member of the Netcast panel has a few moments to offer a shout out to anyone that they wish.

Listener Content

Part of the appeal behind the GTA Netcast is the interaction with our community. That being said, we want your stuff! We're looking for "fake" commercials -- fifteen to thirty seconds in length -- to fill in the space between segments.

The content of the commercial is up to you, but it must be related to Grand Theft Auto in some way. Your commercials must also be saved in either .mp3 or .wav format in order for us to use it in the podcast.

When your commercial is ready to go, send it to [email protected] with the subject "Netcast Commercial" (or something to that effect). We'll do our best to include it in a future episode of the show.
